Class Name: PSC - Proxim Systems Configuration

Student Certification: Proxim Systems Configuration Engineer

Intended Audience: Proxim Partner personnel including technical pre-sales, system engineers, project managers, site evaluation personnel and installers for Proxim Products

Prequisites:

• Basic understanding of TCP/IP and networking, including Bridging, Routing and VLANs
• Good operational proficiency with Windows based OS’s, including making changes to networking settings
• Students are expected to bring with them a laptop computers (preferably Windows XP / 7) with CD-ROM drive, and should be allowed to make changes to the IP protocol stack (need admin rights)

Description: This class lasts 3 days and includes all current Proxim equipment. It is considered to be the entry level class for those professionals that are involved in the design, installation, configuration and maintenance of Proxim Wireless equipment. Following the class the students have an opportunity to take a quiz testing their knowledge on the topics in this class. When scoring 80% or higher on the exam students will obtain a certificate symbolizing their proficiency level. This class is considered a prerequisite for additional more in-depth topic oriented sessions that are delivered in the form of specially tailored classes.

Class Name: WiFi Solutions: ORiNOCO Access Points and Clients

Intended audience: Anyone who will sell, install, configure, or perform site surveys for Proxim's ORiNOCO products.

Prerequisites:

• Basic understanding of TCP/IP and networking, including Bridging, Routing and VLANs
• Good operational proficiency with Windows based OS’s, including making changes to networking settings
• Students are expected to bring with them a laptop computers (preferably Windows XP / 7) with CD-ROM drive, and should be able to make changes to the IP protocol stack (admin rights required)

Description: This class lasts 1.5 days and handles the Proxim ORiNOCO WiFi product family. As such it covers the Access Points, the client devices and the Mesh technology of this product family. Following the class the students have an opportunity to take a quiz testing their knowledge on the topics in this class, and when scoring 80% or higher the students will obtain a certificate symbolizing their proficiency level.

Class Name: T-8100

Student Certification: Proxim Tsunami QB/MP-81xx Certified Engineer

Intended Audience: Proxim Partner personnel involved in installing and maintenance of Proxim Tsunami QB-81xx and Tsunami MP-81xx products

Description: The course focuses on the installation and operation of Tsunami QB-81xx and Tsunami MP-81xx products, spending a significant amount of time in physically installing the equipment and bringing it up to full operation. It includes theory and hands-on.

Prerequisites:

• Basic understanding of TCP/IP and networking, including Bridging, Routing and VLANs
• Good operational proficiency with Windows based OS’s, including making changes to networking settings
• Students are expected to bring with them a laptop computers (preferably Windows XP / 7) with CD-ROM drive, and should be able to make changes to the IP protocol stack (admin rights required)

Intended Audience: Proxim Partner personnel involved in installing and maintenance of Proxim Tsunami GX800 products

Prerequisites:

• Basic understanding of TCP/IP and networking.
• Good operational proficiency in operating Windows Computer systems, including making changes to network parts of Windows.
• Basic understanding of RF fundamentals and radio technology (having attended other Proxim Wireless classes)
• Students are expected to bring with them a laptop computer (preferably Windows/2K, Windows/XP) with CD-ROM drive, and should be allowed to make changes to the IP protocol stack (need admin rights)

Description: The course focuses on the installation and operation of Tsunami GX800 products, spending a significant amount of time in configuring the equipment and bringing it up full operation. It includes theory and hands-on.

Class Name: Broadband Wireless Basics, Tsunami MP.11 and Quickbridge

Intended audience: Proxim Partner personnel including technical pre-sales, system engineers, project managers, site evaluation personnel and installers for Tsunami Quickbridge and MP.11 outdoor wireless solutions.

Prerequisites:

• Basic understanding of TCP/IP and networking, including Bridging, Routing and VLANs
• Good operational proficiency with Windows based OS's, including making changes to networking settings.
• Students are expected to bring with them a laptop computer (preferably Windows XP/7) with CD-ROM drive, and should be able to make changes to the IP protocol stack (admin rights required).

Description: This class lasts 1.5 days and handles the Proxim Tsunami MP.11, and QB.11 product family in all its details. This class covers RF basics and design concepts but focusses most on the specific features of the Proxim Tsunami product family such as the QoS capability and its VLAN operation. It is intended for professionals that are involved in the full application of this product in terms of design, installation, operation and maintenance. Following the class the students have an opportunity to take a quiz testing their knowledge on the topics in this class, and when scoring 80% or higher the students will obtain a certificate symbolizing their proficiency level.

Class Name: Advanced Broadband Wireless, Tsunami MP, Tsunami PTP and Lynx PTP

Intended audience: Proxim Partner personnel including technical pre-sales, system engineers, project managers, site evaluation personnel and installers for Tsunami Point to Point, Lynx and Tsunami MP products.

Prerequisites:

• PCBA class completed
• Basic understanding of TCP/IP and networking, including Bridging, Routing and VLANs
• Good operational proficiency with Windows based OS’s, including making changes to networking settings
• Students are expected to bring with them a laptop computer (preferably Windows XP / 7) with CD-ROM drive, and should be able to make changes to the IP protocol stack (admin rights required)

Description: This 1.5 day class provides a detailed description of the Tsunami Point to Point family of high speed Ethernet bridges and Lynx high capacity point to point products. It also includes the Tsunami MP product. Technical details, topologies, configurations are included; as well as hands on practice, link calculation and path analysis overview. Following the class the students have an opportunity to take a quiz testing their knowledge on the topics in this class, and when scoring 80% or higher the students will obtain a certificate symbolizing their proficiency level.
